The last of the photot meme pictures, [livejournal.com profile] notapipe asked for: something beautiful (not an animal or person), my books, and my CDs

This is the beach in the Sunset district of San Francisco. I took the pictures yesterday at Sunset, it was amazing, there were all these surfers getting out of the water and rinsing off in the parking lot, and some still catching waves. And the sky was incredibly clear considering that the Sunset disctrict is notoriously foggy, expecially this time of year.

Those are all my non-school books, fiction on the top shelf notably, Vonnegut, Neil Gaiman, Michael Chabon, Jonathan Lethem, and J.K. Rowling. The shelf below that has my political books, and the shelf below that is art books, mostly graffiti and photography. The bottom two shelves are all of my dvds. I keep my school books in my bedroom on the shelves above my desk.

And this picture is double counting becuase I don't actually have cd's anymore, all my music is on my computer and iPod which you can see in that picture of my desk.

I just watched The Day After Tomorrow, it was quite good, but I get the feeling that it would have been a lot more spectacular in the theatre on the big screen. Still, Jake Gyllenhaal is a beautiful, beautiful man.

Oh. I forgot to mention it earlier but I have desktop sized, 1024x768 versions of a couple of those beach pictures in case anyone is interested. They are here: [ 1 ] [ 2 ] [ 3 ] [ 4 ] [ 5 ] I have one of them set as my background right now, it's very zen.

Thanks! It was gorgeous out there, I wasn't sure the camera would be able to capture it but I think the pictures turned out well.

Those beach pictures are amazing. I miss California so much, man. [sigh]

Could I beg for a desktop sized version of the footsteps picture? Please?

God, I know, I was thinking all day about trying to find something beatuiful to take a picture of and then on my way to my car I realized that I was only 10 minutes away from the beach. Even still, I had no idea that it would be so gorgeous out. I honestly don't think I could ever leave Califronia for good, not when I'd be missing out on beauty like this. It was unbeleavable.

Here's a desktop sizes picture of the feet.

My brother and I saw The Day After Tomorrow in the theater. All I can say, other then yes it was great, was that I was pretty much in tears when the tornadoes ripped through LA. The movie came out in the beginning of July right? I'd just been to LA at the end of April and seeing things that I'd seen on the big screen being sucked up really got to me.

Then again when I watch Armageddon I cry too. I'm sappy. lol

Yeah I really liked the movie, it was very exciting. I cried during Armageddon too, you certainly aren't alone!

Aww, man, that beach is so pretty. With actual waves! Because of the reefs around here and an offshore island we don't get real waves. :::spies on your book collection::: I love seeing what other people have on their shelves!

These waves were actually fairly tame, in storms the beaches in San Francisco get pretty wild, there's flood warning and no beach access, I think it's pretty neat though.

Sweet. That turned out better than I had expected.

Me too, I had no idea it would be that nice out at the beach, not did I actually try to time it for sunset, it just worked. Nice picture prompts.

God, I miss home.

*sniffle*

I lived in London for three months last year and I loved it but I missed California so much, I think it'd be hard for me to ever really leave.

Hmmm, that's it. I want to take part in this meme thing too. But what can I ask?

*goes away to ponder*

Have you come up with anything yet? *waits*

[identity profile] magician-sakura.livejournal.com 2004-10-15 10:24 am (UTC)(link)
*thinks* Yeah I have a couple... It just depends on what you're willing to take pictures of.
