Eeee! Schizophrenic! OMG go buy it now! I'm so late for class eep!

My African American history class saw Piri Thomas speak today. I've not read his books, but the man breathes poetry and it is beautiful, he said some really amazing stuff, I'm planning on picking his book up as soon as I can. He was talking about love and life and that he "was the first one in line to make love not war" he also said that he's "only 75 years old" and he keeps telling his wife that when he turns 100 he's going to become a playboy. What an amazing man.

I'm all a-squee over JC's new album. Schizophrenic, man, go buy it. It's such an amazing and fun, fun album.

In other music news, today is Grey Tuesday, it's a political protest against music copywrites, specifically it's a campaign to allow "The Grey Album" to be released. The Grey Album was done by this DJ named Danger Mouse, and he mixed tracks from Jay-Z's The Black Album with the music from the Beatles' White Album. There's a good article covering the protest here. I'd urge you all to check out the songs.

I think we all recognize the danger of allowing George Bush to push though a constitutional ban on gay marriage. The very idea that we could have state sanctioned discrimination written into law is terrifying.
