more eyes! and more viggo!

Veronica Mars last night slayed me! God that show is good. It's so nice to watch a show and just be happy with it, no exceptions, no doubts.

And speaking of tv shows I'm loving, how about Kitchen Confidential? Will Tippen! And Xander! And a hot british guy (who has evidently been trained at both RADA and Oxford)! All on tv together every week! I only wish it was an hour show and not a half hour. Plus, there's already fic. You should all go check out [livejournal.com profile] greg_the_fish for stories by the always fabulous [livejournal.com profile] hackthis, [livejournal.com profile] nifra_idril, and [livejournal.com profile] rageprufrock.

For [livejournal.com profile] crownzeal (and everyone else interested, of course):
[ The Daily Show - Viggo Mortensen - 9.27.05 ] -- avi, 161mb
Can I just say that I love New Zealand? Some wonderful tv station over there has been airing the unaired episodes of Eyes. Last week we got 1x06 and 1x07 hit torrents yesterday, so here's that as well.
[ Eyes - 1x07 ] -- avi, 350mb
Someone bought me 2 months of paid time and lj didn't send me an email so I have no idea who it was or even if you said who it was, but thank you! I really appreciate the gift.

House 2x03 is downloading right now. I'm reading CSI fanfiction, of all things. And I fell over while going up some stairs a little bit ago. So basically, all is right with the world at this point.

Also, Viggo was on Letterman the other night and he tells these two really awesome stories, one about David Cronenberg (director of A History of Violence) and one about growing up in Argentina and going duck hunting at the tender age of 3. Viggo is, so my favorite. I edited the file down to Viggo's interview if any of you are interested in downloading it.
[ Viggo Mortensen - Letterman - 09-23-05 ] -- mpg, 88mb
Also, here's Elijah's appearance on Conan O'Brien's show from the other week:
[ Elijah Wood - Conan O'Brien - Part 1 ] -- mpg, 65mb
[ Elijah Wood - Conan O'Brien - Part 2 ] -- mpg, 45mb
And speaking of Elijah, I was riding my bike to school the other day and there was Elijah all trussed up in duct tape on the side of a bus. It was a very squeeful moment before a pretty boring class.

Lastly, and this one is mostly for [livejournal.com profile] hackthis' benefit (with thanks to [livejournal.com profile] zsuness for the clip) here's a short clip of Ryan Gosling and Rachel MacAdams accepting a Teen Choice Award earlier this year:
[ Ryan Gosling - Teen Choice Awards ] -- mpg, 35mb
Also relating to Ryan: the trailer for Stay is out and the movie looks creepy as hell. I seriously hope it spawns some Ryan/Ewan fic at some point, cause that'd be hot, yo.

okay, lastly for real now. My paid account expired the other day and I haven't bothered to re-up yet. Which got me thinking about how the world hasn't ended and livejournal still works at the same speed it did when I was paying for it (as far as I can tell so far) so now I'm thinking maybe I'll just stick with the money saving because I like my layout how it is, I don't post polls much at all, and I think I can probably live without the icons. Yay for saving money!

And speaking of money saving, I switched over to Dreamhost for webhosting and not only are they really responsive, they let their customers give out promo codes with discounts. So if any of you are looking for webhosting they're offering a years hosting with 4.8gb of storage and 120gb of bandwidth per month for $22.50 for the whole year just use the promo code: KILLERSTAR when you checkout, and make sure you've chosen the yearly payment plan. Fucking awesome, no?

media, and art/vacation musings

It snowed here, like real honest-to-god-haven't-seen-it-in-years snow. It's cold, yo! California really does have it's advantages sometimes.

In other news: I know I've been pretty quiet on the lotrips love but Elijah Wood was on Ellen's show earlier and [livejournal.com profile] eisakay put it up and I just couldn't resist. So here's that for anyone interested:
[ Elijah on Ellen ] -- mpg, 54.19mb
[livejournal.com profile] eisakay also put up the MTV Making the Video for Signs (Snoop and Justin's new song). I haven't watched it yet but I'm sure Justin is as awesome as ever if the video itself is anything to go by. (I should note that I've got the video up a couple entries back)
[ Making the Video - Signs ] -- avi, 195.08mb
In even further news: I need gloves. Also, I've discovered that going on a trip to New York with only my sister and father is both fun and slightly dissappointing considering our diverging tastes. I like modern art, weird off-broadway plays, and vintage/thrift stores, my sister likes major musicals, dislikes vintage anything, and my dad likes excruciatingly boring plays, while both like European Renaissance art and dislike modern. They didn't like the Guggenheim or wandering around Williamsburg while I rejoiced in the graffiti. We did go to the Metropolitan museum and just split up, their Modern gallery was pretty good, I would like to go see the MOMA if I can get away but I sincerely doubt that anything will ever live up to London's Tate Modern.

New icon in celebration of Tony's upcoming show. Also, am I wrong in remembering that he'll be opening for JC?

I saw Making the Movie: Troy last night and I'm really excited for the movie to come out, I certainly don't think it'll be groundbreaking but it should be entertaining. Also, I have plans to see Mean Girls this weekend, I feel incredibly lame, but I have such a weakness for movies like this so I'm sure I'll like it. Especially if the comparisons to Heathers bear any weight at all.

Two LotR related clips of unknown origin:
[ Hawaii news clip about Lost ] -- wmv, 3.2mb
[ Eric Bana doing an Orlando impression ] -- wmv, 2mb
Also, this weird music video thing that JC's doing? It's a remake of a song that was on the Pokemon soundtrack, I uploaded the original song in case anyone's interested it's By someone named Billie and it's up here the song is called Makin' My Way.

While I'm talking about movies and fannish type stuff, there's only 30 days til Azkaban and I cannot wait, I think this movie is going to be really good, the new trailer looks excellent.

Oh and I have a new moodtheme compliments of Tomilee, it's all Viggo and Orlando all the time, how could I resist?

Has livejournal not heard of sending out WARNING emails before they TAKE AWAY ALL YOUR ICONS? And how on earth do they choose which ones to take away? random much? Unimpressed, livejournal, unimpressed. I mean honestly, I don't mind paying for more icons, but I'd appreciate a little notification.

Ugh, in less obnoxious news, Orlando was on Oprah todays and [livejournal.com profile] nuregwen capped his part so I've got that up.
[ talking about Troy ] -- wmv, 7.2mb
OMG until I saw this clip I hadn't ever noticed how similarly Oprah and Graham Norton talk. Weird. Maybe I'm on crack. At any rate, enjoy, right click and save as, drop a comment if you download, blah blah, no hotlinking.

end of the month bandwidth party

The new episode of Queer as Folk has been downloaded, and I'm watching Buffy right now. And, it's finally cooling off, only 54° out now, down from 92° earlier today. So life is pretty good. Plus, it's the end of the month and I've still got a ton of bandwidth so I've got some stuff to share.

First off, an old file, from December, it's Elijah on SNL pretending to be Jai from Queer Eye For the Straight Guy. I'm pretty sure I got it from [livejournal.com profile] nuregwen but I'm not 100% sure on that so if you recognize it as yours let me know and I'll adjust the credit.
[ Elijah on SNL ] -- mov, 9mb
Another old one, but one of my favorite Justin files ever, is from his performance with Al Green for the Down Home in Memphis tv special. He just looks so incredibly happy to be onstage singing with Al Green, I can't help but love him a little bit more everytime I watch this. I have no clue where I got this, since it's fairly prolific.
[ Let's Stay Together ] -- mpg, 58mb
I've also got the Dieux du Stade making of DVD bootleg (aka hot naked rugby players) )up, it's a large file, so this is a big experiment for me to see about bandwidth, and if my hosts actually live up to their 25gb/month promise, so feel free to download, I'd just really appreciate a comment if you do.
[ mmm naked rugby players ] -- realmedia file, 229mb
Finally, I recced Atmosphere a while back in my music recs post and I'm going to do it again with mp3s, because [livejournal.com profile] afropuff has inspired me.

Group/Singer: Atmosphere
When & Where: Minneapolis, MN. Sean's been rapping since way back, his first full length album was in 1997, but he's been doing 7" and shit for longer.
Why should I care? This guy started the hip hop scene in Minneapolis. His style is all over the place, from smooth and mellow to harder hip hop, but his lyrics are amazing throughout. And he's got an ego the size of texas, while still being the most self-depricating person ever. Take with a grain of salt and enjoy the irony.
If you like: Aesop Rock, the Living Legends try him.

Songs:
[ The Woman With the Tattooed Hands ] [ Party for the Fight to Write ] [ The Bass and the Movement ] [ Vampires ] [ Free or Dead ]

A Birthday Post (mine)

Happy Birthday to me. In honor of this, I'm giving you all: Elijah! well, sort of. Please please, please right click and save, do not direct link the file, and comment if you download. The first clip is from Good Morning America two days ago, but the last three clips are the keepers. Graham Norton is a gay late night talk show host in Britain and in the interview him and Elijah talk about fanfiction and photo manips and Graham actually pulls up the Theband Band website and shows the Frodo/Sam manip! He actually had it ready in case he thought it would fit into the interview! It's absolutely hysterical and y'all have to see it.

I braved the mall in search of some warmer weather clothes and I wound up with a pair of light blue capris. But the best part was walking into the wet seal and seeing these shirts, they also had one for Ashton and one for Brad.

Ten Fictional characters I'd like to fuck: (in no order cause that's way to hard)

Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp) Pirates ofthe Caribbean
Aragorn (Viggo Mortensen) Lord of the Rings
Donnie Darko (Jake Gylenhaal) Donnie Darko
Brian Kinney US Queer as Folk
Logan/Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) X-Men
Indiana Jones (Harrison Ford) Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom
James Bond (Pierce Brosnan) Goldeneye
Gigolo Joe (Jude Law) A.I. Artificial Intelligence
Charlie Young (Dulé Hill) The West Wing
Spike (James Marsters) Buffy the Vampire Slayer

And to round out the spammage today: here's the rest of Elijah's interview on Jay Leno last night. Please right click and save, comment if you download, and don't direct link the file
