JC on Britney, MR on Cribs, mp3s anyone?

Congrats to everyone who got Challenge tickets this morning. I'm horribly jealous, but I know you guys will be posting the highlights for the rest of us. Take lots of pictures! Have lots of fun!

JC was on Britney's show Chaotic earlier this evening talking about sex and looking generally adorable funny. I haven't seen a direct feed version of it yet, so let me know if there is one but [livejournal.com profile] dfloss88 shot a video of her tv and [livejournal.com profile] fuskeez shared it so I'm re-sharing.
[ JC - Chaotic ] -- avi, 10mb

I spoke too soon, [livejournal.com profile] raedoro capped it, so here's that version too (note: the first is slightly longer and has a bit of Britney finishing off the segment): [ JC - Chaotic ] --mpg, 8.5mb
Michael Rosenbaum was on MTV Cribs last week (I think it was the 11th?) He was fabulous and you've probably all seen it but I uploaded it anyway. Highlights include MR dancing in his socks and working out in high heels. Much thanks to [livejournal.com profile] aelora for sharing/making the file.
[ Michael Rosenbaum - Cribs ] -- wmv, 38.1mb
I'm bummed that Blind Justice and Eyes got cancelled. Here's hoping that next years lineup will bring both new tv to obsess over, and good torrent sites.

You all remember that meme a while back? The one where you had to put your playlist on random and list the first 20 songs that came up? I want to do something similar. So here's the deal, if you leave a comment I will upload the first 5 songs that come on in iTunes for you. Sound fun? Who knows what the hell you'll get out of the deal, could be Bach, could be Dom and Elijah singing absolute nonsense.

smallville 4x14, boondocks fic, lurkers?

[ Smallville 4x14 - Krypto ] -- avi, 347.5mb
Sorry guys I had to friendslock this, you can find the locked entry here. Um, I usually lock these episodes and I just forgot this time but I really don't have the bandwidth this month to keep it open, sorry!

In other news [livejournal.com profile] ladyjackyl has the somewhat dubious honor of being the first (and only) person I've ever written fic for.

Boondock Saints Connor/Murphy )

The final two episodes of House are uploading, so I should be able to get back to you all with them later today. One of my neighbors is like, banging something into their wall or something. They've been at it for an hour now. WTF? These walls are like, triple thickness and soundproofed. I've no clue what's going on.

[livejournal.com profile] dacey made a really interesting post about lurkers earlier and it got me thinking. I guess I mostly assume that about half the people who have me friended actually read my posts. I have no clue if this true but I think I've always thought it probably is. In case anyone ever wonders about my reading habits I read absolutely everyone's journal who I have friended. Anyway this whole lurker thing got me thinking, is there anyone out there who reads my journal regularly and doesn't comment? I'm going to second [livejournal.com profile] dacey and take this moment to say:
"If you read my journal and you've never commented or said hello, I'd love it if you'd do that. Just...say hi. Give me a wave. And then you can go back to watching if you want. I promise I don't bite. And I'll wave back. : ) "

new roommate

So I ended up finding a roommate on craigslist, she goes to the same school as me and seems pretty nice, so I'm really hoping that we can at least live peacefully although I have my doubts about finding a new best friend. She is in a sorority. Have any of you guys ever been in one? I guess the sororities at my school aren't really your typical sorority, for instance the one she's in doesn't have a house and she says that she mostly did it to meet people when she transfered. I am pretty much the exact opposite of a sorority girl, what with the whole feminist, radical politics, activism thing. But uh, sorority!flatmate (as I'll probably be referring to her from now on) was pretty much the best person for the place, so here's hoping. I'm mentioning all this because she is, at the very moment, moving in. She has a lot of stuff! Thus endeth the real-life portion of today's post.

In fannish things: [livejournal.com profile] eisakay generously shared Michael Rosenbaum's latest appearance on Carson Daly's show. In it, he does impressions of Clint Eastwood, Buffalo Bill (from SIlence of the Lambs), Christopher Walken, John Malkovich, and my personal favorite, Kevin Spacey. Carson is a complete tool decent interviewer (at least with Michael). They're having a lot of fun. Also, I think Carson's a little in love with him.
[ Michael Rosenbaum - carson daly - 050202 ] -- mpg, 81.7mb
Watching this tickled my memory though, because I just knew that MIchael had another encounter with Spacey that he talked about once. So I dug through my media files and sure enough, I was right. Here's Michael talking with Conan (aka my favorite late night host EVER) at some unknown point in history. (or not so unknown since the file says 01-14-03) The guy does a good Spacey, and when he does it I can finally beleive that Spacey will make a good Lex Luthor.
[ Michael on Conan ] -- wmv, 18.68mb
I finished watching Season 4 of Angel now I just have to wait for season 5 to come out. Also I really want to get season 3 of The West Wing. I've been dropping not-so-subtle hints to my parents of the "it's never a bad time to buy me things" variety. So far no luck.

I don't know how many of you watched Angel or read the fic but if you've seen Not Fade Away you have to go read Pinch Me by [livejournal.com profile] itsabigrock. It's post NFA and Angel/Spike (but not in that obnoxious sire-childe way so pay no attention to the pairing if it's not usually your thing). It's possibly one of the best Angel-verse stories I've ever read. [livejournal.com profile] itsabigrock calls it "A Shanshu tale, of sorts." and it's just gorgeous. So atmospheric and god, just painfully good. This is how fanfic should be written.

recs and media

Recs copy-pasted from my recs journal (the poorly named) [livejournal.com profile] anti_recs:

  • None So Blind by [livejournal.com profile] pun. Master and Commander: Stephen/Jack. The M&C universe fascinates me, O'Brien was a really brilliant writer, and very specific in his character's voices, which is why it's so hard for fic writers to get it right. But [livejournal.com profile] pun does it masterfully (excuse the bad-pun (omg another one!)), her voces were, I thought, spot on and while this is a fairly short story, I thought is was a great take one Jack and Stephen's dynamic.

  • Jeeves and the Blessed Indiscretion by [livejournal.com profile] astolat. Jeeves and Wooster: Jeeves/Wooster. This was written for the Yuletide challenge this year, and someone on my flist recced it. Until then I hadn't any clue that Jeeves and Wooster fanfic even existed, but color me pleasantly surprised. [livejournal.com profile] astolat is an incredibly talented writer in any fandom (her webpage is here) and Jeeves and Wooster is no exception. This story is perfectly Wodehouse in every turn of phrase. If you've ever picked up one of the Jeeves and Wooster books or seen the tv series you must read this story.

  • And the same thing goes for Wooster's School for Wayward Girls by [livejournal.com profile] yahtzee63. Jeeves and Wooster: Jeeves/Wooster. This was also written for the yultide challenge and it too is brilliant.

  • I would now like to point out [livejournal.com profile] flambeau at this point because she's the only other Jeeves and Wooster writer than I know of and her stories are also great. Webpage here.

And now onto the media (right click and save as please!) also comments telling me you're downloading are always appreciated.

[ Tegan And Sara - Walking WIth a Ghost ] -- mp3. From Amazon's descrition of their album So Jealous: They are, yes, identical twin lesbians, and they do occupy the space--more like a vacuum, really--between the riot-grrl menace of Sleater-Kinney and the un-fun folk of Indigo Girls. This song is really fun, I like their sound a lot.

[ The Killers - Somebody Told Me ] -- mp3. From Amazon's description of their debut album Hot Fuss: The Killers match postpunk guitars with an overlay of synthesizer that recalls '80s New Wave without burying their sound in nostalgia.

    [ The Killers - Mr. Brightside ] -- mp3.

From [livejournal.com profile] eisakay: Michael Rosenbaum on Tony Danza's show yesterday
    [ right click ] -- mpg, 56.48mb
From [livejournal.com profile] fuskeez here's JC from I Love The 90s: Part Deux. All six clips edited into one file with thanks to [livejournal.com profile] kari3124 for posting the separate files originally.
    [ JC - I Love The 90s: Part Deux ] -- mpg, 25.5mb
Also from [livejournal.com profile] fuskeez but originally from [livejournal.com profile] kirsch a small piece of JC on Best Week Ever. They used an old clip of him to play against the story of Eva and her vibrator.
    [ JC- Best Week Ever ] -- avi, 3.36mb
And finally something a little different, but some of you comic geek types might enjoy it. One of my friends gave me the first season of The X-Men cartoon. I don't know how many of you were into it but I watched this cartoon every. single. saturday for years so this is like, the ultimate cool for me. I uploaded the first three episodes in case anyone's interested. And if you are please, please please let me know you downloaded them because I can upload the rest of the episodes.
    [ X-Men 1x01 and 1x02- Night of the Sentinels ] -- avi, 151mb
    [ X-Men 1x03- Enter Magneto ] -- mpg, 73.9mb
    Enjoy!

    First off:

    Happy Birthday [livejournal.com profile] svmadelyn!

Secondly, I have some random smallville related media to share. I'm pretty sure I got both from [livejournal.com profile] eisakay, but I'm not 100% sure anymore. Please remember to rightclick and save as.

The first one is small, it's from something called Livin' Large and features Michael Rosenbaum wandering around the Costa Rican rainforest. He's really cute in it, sort of dorky tourist guy. So here's that one:
    [ Livin' Large: Michael Rosenbaum ] -- mov, 9.9mb
The second one is pretty large, it's a Smallville Behind the Scenes show from the UK, T4 to be exact. And it looks like it's from Season 1. They interview the whole cast, and Rosenbaum is as charming as ever, there areeven mentions of Superman underoos. And they show some of the filming of Nicodemus
    [ Smallville: Behind the Scenes ] -- mpg, 237.6
The second file is kinda big so I'd appreciate a comment if you download. Enjoy!

eta oh man, I really miss season 1. The Clex is fucking text. And it was all so much lighter than now. Lex is all wooby and full of potential to be good. *desperately needs rift? what rift? fic*

eta the second I have something new to share as well. The blooper reel from the Season 3 dvd's courtesy of [livejournal.com profile] mkitty_03

The Smallville Backstage special was just on [livejournal.com profile] aelora digitized it and I'm helping to share, so right click and save, and please comment if you download. Also, do not direct link the files.

    my thoughts... )

In other news, I downloaded some comics from Suprnova with Bittorrent and didn't notice until after I'd finished downloading that they're in a funky file format: .cbr anyone know what the heck can read this?

Also, just for the hell of it, and because I've had this song on repeat for the past three days straight, the acousitc version of She Will Be Loved

    smallville caps, language poll

Am in a school lab procrastinating on typing up film notes on Gosford Park. Have come to the realization that windows keyboards hate me. I have much better luck typing on Macs (although some of you might have evidence to prove otherwise.)

Watched Lost last night with my mom. Planned to tape Smallville since it's on at the same time and I'd rather have it on tape to rewatch but we couldn't get the vcr to work so I had to download it instead. So I've not had a chance to watch it. I don't know if any of you are big SV fans but I've been helping [livejournal.com profile] aelora with webspace by hosting the caps she's made of the new episodes. So if any of you want them here's caps from Gone:

    Zip 1 (193 files, 15MB)
    Zip 2 (194 files, 14MB)

Also, since I have ridiculous amount of bandwidth, I've been thinking about putting up the avi files of the new SV eps. Does anyone even want/need them though? The first two eps are 350mb each so they're good quality and fairly large files. Anyways let me know if there's interest and I'll upload them.

And finally, because I'm curious (and this paid account should really start making itself useful) a poll:
    [Poll #358923]

christ. fell off bicycle today, sprained right wrist/roadburned left arm/scraped left knee/broke beautiful bicycle. i am, oddly, most upset about the bike. regardless, i cannot type like this well.

to make up for this here's my previously recorded segment:

Right clikc and save, and don't link the files please. In case any of you haven't seen this yet, here's the Entertainment Tonight bit on Joey and Kelly's wedding credit to [livejournal.com profile] eisakay for this
    [ The Wedding ] -- mpeg, 13.5mb
From [livejournal.com profile] confidentwords by way of [livejournal.com profile] dream517
    [ Lance- Higglytown Heroes ] -- mp3, 2.17MB
The WB's Insider Favorites: Smallville from [livejournal.com profile] eisakay
    [ Part 1 ] -- mpeg, 18.3mb
    [ Part 2 ] -- mpeg, 48.5mb
    [ Part 3 ] -- mpeg, 6.7 *files removed to protect bandwidth
unless wrist miraculously recovers, near-future updates are unexpected.
