Am still in London. Am still miserable.
They did move us, not all together though now I'm just with A, the girl I was roomed with at the first house. They decided to move all of us out though, so that was good. However my new house is run by a woman who takes in students on a really regular basis. Like besides me and A, there are 5 other students in the house right now, but all of them are short-term. So basically they've put us into a professional boarder house. When this is supposed to be a "homestay" where we're treated a little better than fucking hostel guests.
And to top that off the woman informed us that we're not allowed to use the stove because her insurance company won't let any students use it because it's a fire hazard.
To clarify:
An Overview of the Homestay Requirements and Guarantees
One bed per person.
A continental breakfast in the morning.
Access to the kitchen. (Because we don't get evening meals with our homestay we have to be able to cook for ourselves.)
A reasonable amount of food storage space in the refridgeorator and cubords.
What I have Gotten So Far
None of the above (at least not all in the same house).
Honestly. What the fuck kind of requirements does this program have to have to host people? They've told us that they screen people and do interviews but obviously thats been failing pretty damned soundly.
And while I do sort of enjoy idly complaining about stuff in a general sort of way, this is just over the top. I am so not getting what I paid for here.
Oh yeah, I nearly forgot the best part, my new host, actually chided me for being lazy today. She asked what time my classes were and I had to explain that I had purposely not taken an early morning class. And then she went off for ten minutes about how lazy I am and how that won't work in the Real World and how teenagers are all lazy these days. She even went so far as to ask what my parents said about me being "lazy".
Can you believe this shit? I did not fly 6,000 miles and leave all of my family and friends so that I could pay to be yelled at by a rude English woman.
I want to go home but my parents won't let me, because I "need to give it some time".
