Whew. It took for-freaking-ever to get everything transfered over with rating and word counts and such but I am so, so pleased to announce that I've updated my recs website in a huge fashion. Now powered by wordpress, all of my recs are totally searchable by fandom, author, wordcount, ratings and more.

With over 340(!!!) stories to read, maybe you'll find some you've not read before; also I normally just rec stories as they come to me but I might be going back to rec some old favorites now that I've finished with the site update.

It's a new url too, so if you have bookmarks, delicious or otherwise, don't forget to update them!

That's awesome. After you talked about it last time, I decided that I was going to move my recs into wordpress too, but I'm impressed at how fast you moved yours over. I keep on getting distracted by all the goodness.

Plus, feed yay! I love being able to track other people's recommendations to see if there's anything I missed.

And, ooh, you should look into the LiveJournal Crossposter to feed stuff into anti_recs, except for the part where it would make one post per fic.

Oh man it took forever. I was seriously determined though. And I've been downloading and watching supernatural this weekend too, so in between each episode I made a deal with myself to just finish out a fandom or a full page's worth of recs. It was slow, slow going, and I hadn't realised I'd recced that many stories. It was also a really good opportunity to spell check and update links, some of them were horribly outdated.

I'm probably still going to update the [livejournal.com profile] anti_recs journal first because individual lj posts per rec kind of annoy me, and because it's super easy to just keep an open entry in xjournal of stories I've read.

I know what you mean. Really, if I had the time to devote to learning XML-RPC, I'd write a script that, when called, would merge together and post to LJ all the wordpress stuff since the last time. But I have way too many projects right now.

Also, omg, you have an insane number of posts per page.

And, oh, I recommend going to Options->Permalinks and changing it to Date and Named Based, because then you get these really pretty urls. Instead of http://recs.killerstar.net/?cat=17 it would say http://recs.killerstar.net/category/stargateatlantis.

I love rec sites. And I'm glad you ended up going with wordpress, because hopefully it will be way easier to manage in the long run and makes sorting/stalking easier on the rest of us :)

Dude it's already totally easier for me. Like I'm so much more extied about keeping this page updated than I was with my old one which just felt unweildy and completely un-user friendly once I had a significant number of stories on each page.

And heh, I had upped the number of posts per page while I was updating it and I never changed it back to something a little more reasonable than 100 posts per page, maybe I'll bring it down to something like 30?
