Because I have to write 7 pages on Shakespeare tonight, obviously it is a good idea to instead write more about Collectormania. I am utterly impossible sometimes.

This one's gonna be covering day two a.k.a. Elijah Day.

After the Dom q&a and TTT, megolas and I took in a few wayward ljers who were sans hotel. so celiaka and [livejournal.com profile] laceoversand and her non-lj friend Pippa came back with us and we snuck them into the room. v. super sekrit style, it was terribly James Bond of us.

So we all gushed some about Elijah and the guys, and discussed the fact that Pippa's acting coach and friend played Elijah's therapist in The Goodson. And P. had written him a not passing on Jacqueline Brookes' regards. So she planned to talk with him about that. Meanwhile I had my own, odd little Elijah connection to throw in.

A while ago Elijah lived in Petaluma, CA, which is one town over from me. Interesting it is also home to Winona Ryder and Ryder Strong. And one of my good friends from home hates Elijah Wood because, evidently, when she was younger she was friends with Lij's neighbor, and she's very bitter about the fact that he used to throw rocks at them when they were all younger. And after telling this story to a variety of folk, it was decided that I should mention it at the signing.

After wandering around for hours, carrying my overnight bag mind you, it was finally time to meet Elijah. We were number 490, we didn't get in to see Elijah until at least 3:30pm. So I got up to him, smiled, asked if he remembered living in Petluma, and he kind of lit up and was like "Yeah Petaluma! Yeah" so then I told him about my friend and the rocks, at which point he looked a little surprised and denied it all. According to him he does not remember it, but he said it was a shame that she didn't like the movies. I said, "yes that's what I told her too". And he said that he had lived in Petaluma for about 5 months, and I explained that I was from one town over, he recognized the name, and I said it was lovely to meet him, and had to go.

But he was so sweet, and it's really cute because you can see the exact moment when something clicks for him, and when it does his whole face kind of lights up. Oh, and in case anyone cares, he had a sort of mohawk thing, except the sides weren't shaved, they just seemed shorted than the center. And his eyes didn't really seem as huge as they look on screen. But he's really good looking in RL. He really seemed very sweet. And it was a really long day for all the guys, they started signing autographs at about 9:45 and didn't finish until almost 6. I think they probably got through about 700 people each on Saturday. And they only had a 40 minute lunch break. Thats it.

After getting Lij's autograph we decided that it would be completely impossible to get Dom's too without really compromising out seats in the FotR screening, so we just headed for the cinema instead. And P. and I waited in line and kind of talked to some other people. We ended up chatting a tiny bit with two girls who hadn't gotten to meet any of the guys so we gave them our Dom tickets, and later once we were all seated one of the girls came over to thank me/let me know that she had gotten to meet him. She said they were among the last people to get autographs that night.

And Im writing notes on the Sean and Elijah screening and q&a those should be up later today. Possibly with pictures, or well, Ill have my pictures and no webhost, so Ill have to work that out somehow.
