photomeme part deux

So, two weeks later I finally have the other pictures I wanted to take for the photomeme.

[livejournal.com profile] jchalo asked for a view of water, a still-life of things that have special meaning to me, and the view from my front door.

I only live about 20 minutes away from the beach and I totally don't go nearly enough.

I guess some people might take a picture of something else, but I chose my bike as my thing that has special meaning to me because I love my little fixed gear bike. It's a tiny little custom made Japanese frame that I found used about two years ago. I bought most of the parts on ebay and they're a mix of japanese and italian. I especially love my pedals because they're super-rare vintage Campagnolo track pedals. I ride my bike just about every day, and I love that during the week I pretty much never even touch my car anymore. Yay for bikes!

Here is the view from my front door. On the left, just out of frame you can see the flowers and planter box I got for my mom for Mother's day. We had a good time planting all of the flowers in it ourselves.

[livejournal.com profile] magician_sakura asked for: my most favourite spot, something blue and shiny, and my book collection.

The beach is pretty much hands down my favorite place ever. I love the ocean. In fact, when I'm not near a coast I always think that I can feel the difference.

I guess this might be cheating but look! It's blue and shiny! And very, very pretty.

[livejournal.com profile] vellum asked for: "as;dkfj adf; cleavage, bathroom mirror shot, a;sjddkf df hmm. a uh. huh. jewelry"

Dude. These won't be around for much longer, what with the surgery in two and a half weeks. So I figured I should immortalize them a little.

Cheesy, fun frederick's of hollywood corset + cheap-o pink, green and grey plaid skirt = bathroom mirror shot?

I am ridiculously pleased that someone asked me for a picture of my jewelry because I love it so. I don't have pierced ears because needles freak me out a lot so I embraced the world of vintage jewelry a few years ago when I discovered how awesome clip on earrings are.

A lot of it isn't dated, and some is worth more than others but the ones I'd like to point out are the pink dangly pair of earrings on the far right which date to the 1920's and are made out of Czech glass and the blue/green earrings and brooch set on the far left of that same row. I found those earrings at a vintage store here in town and found the matching brooch 6 months later 300 miles away at a vintage store in Santa Cruz. What on earth are the odds?.

If anyone didn't get to play the first time and wants to play now, leave me a three item prompt of things to take pictures of over here in this post :D

I imagine you probably have better luck actually being able to swim in your ocean. While mine generally requires wetsuits year-round and is currently a balmy 11° celsius (52°f), I certainly enjoy looking at it! There's really nothing prettier than a good ocean view.

Ah, I miss the beaches of NorCal.

Also, CLEAVAGE. Though I can see why you're getting a reduction--they're much too big for your frame. My DD's won't be around forever, either.

I love the beach so much. My dream house would be right on a beach somewhere, although there's really no chance of me ever being able to afford it :D Still, a 20 minute drive is not shabby at all. I had a lot of friends in high school who would get up at 5am and surf before school.

And seriously. My cleavage is out of control. I am going to be so excited come two months from now when I get to go shopping and running and not have to deal with them.

Omg. Seriously. They're like. Already giving me back problems. It's going to be such a relief to not have to deal with them anymore.

No no, it totally is in my bathroom! I am not a cheat. The door to the right of the picture leads to the toilet, and I'm standing in the part with the sinks and the mirrors. And behind me in the mirror is my mess of a closet. It totally counts as my bathroom!

Such gorgeous pictures!

I live about 10 minutes away from a beach, but I think the proximity tends to make me forget how beautiful it could be. On a fine day, it looks just like your pictures.

And yay for immortalized cleavages!

Seriously, for someone who lives 20 minutes away from the beach, I should take advantage of it a lot more than I do. Which ocean do you live near?

:D
I went to UCSB for grad school, and am now working in the same area.

Dug through my pictures and found this. I probably took it during my first year there:

The picture's not that great, but you know, it was even more ridiculous when I was a student because the ocean was 2 minutes away by foot.

Immortalise the cleavage some more! ;)

Ahem. Beautiful pictures. You have a good eye.

Hahaha, I guess it's sort of cheating, but that's okay. The beach is lovely and oh so blue.
