In my entire life I can't think of a single thing I've done where I've been instantly good at it without some sort of effort involved. Until yesterday when I found out that I am, apparently, an awesome marks(wo)man. I went to a shooting range with 3 friends, picked up my very first gun ever, and outshot all three of them (and most of the other shooters at the range.)

How incredibly rad is that? I have always liked the idea of guns, seen the appeal and all that (Hello, John Sheppard.) So it was pretty brilliant to find out that my theoretical appreciation of target shooting may really turn out to be an applied appreciation for it.

I am curious though, I know a good amount of time has been spent admiring Sheppard's thigh holsters and the like, but do any of you ever go shooting? If so what kind of guns do you use and/or own?

For posterity, I totally took cell phone pictures of one of my targets and have been showing my friends all weekend. This one was a .22 but I also shot a Glock 9mm and a .38 Special revolver all of which were pretty fun, next time I'm going to try out a .44 and a couple other 9mm brands.

This is what my target looked like at the end. Out of 23 shots all 23 hit the target somewhere within points range, and all but 1 hit in the 9 and 10 point range. I beleive this was my first target of the day.


It's probably a good thing I don't ever want to shoot anything but inanimate objects.
