in the interest of happiness

OK, I'm tired of all this doom and gloom (not that there really was much of any to begin with). So I want each and every one of you to tell me two things:

1. Something thing about yourself that you love, or something that you have done that you're proud of. I don't care whether it was waking up on time, aceing a class, or having really great sex last night, I wanna know about it.

2. Something about fandom (whatever fandom you're in) that you love. Read an awesome fic last night? Made a new friend? or something more general, just tell me something about fandom that makes you smile.

I'll start:

1. I am really proud that I've been riding my bike to school. I love my bike. And I love the bike community here, and I love that I've been getting exercise, and helping the environment, and I get to school a lot faster now that I don't have to worry about parking.

2. I love the generosity of popfandom. I mean honestly, I've never seen more communities dedidcated to helping out other fen. [livejournal.com profile] image_direct and [livejournal.com profile] image_service for pictures, [livejournal.com profile] puppyshelter for footage, not to mention [livejournal.com profile] popmediafinders, [livejournal.com profile] popstoryfinders, [livejournal.com profile] pop_reference, [livejournal.com profile] poptrades, [livejournal.com profile] sdb_finders and so many more. Seriously, I am just amazed about the willingness of people to send eachother swag and share files and information. *hugs fandom* you are all awesome.

1. I auditioned for a (small) solo in front of Gerry Schwartz without barfing on my shoes. (I didn't get the solo, but I was the understudy.)

2. What you said is true, of course, so here's a variation on it, which I already posted about in my LJ today: I love that writers are so generous. That they put their hard work out there for free, every day, sometimes to spec, and don't ask anything in return. I love that I can log on anytime I want and reread old favorites, or find new ones delivered to my friends list like gifts from the universe.
