cali: (hee!)
Evidently, there is a (group? person? alien?!?) who remakes popular songs by having children sing along on the tracks. It's called, get this, Kidz Bop. It's like, the kid friendly answer to NOW! That's What I Call Music. It gets worse though. Amongst such hits as My Boo and Let's Get it Started there's a version of Modest Mouse's Float On. I shit you not. download it. If that isn't horrifying enough, the album is number 7 on the charts this week.

Perhaps Volume 8 will bring us such hits as The Killers Somebody Told Me and Franz Ferdinand's Michael.

That is such a BAD version of that song. I cannot believe people would actually go out and buy that cd! *shivers* I am so scared for the future of the music industry. More so than ever before.

I've seen commercials for those cds and I don't get it. If you were ok with your 7 year old listening to Crazy In Love and whatever else is on there why wouldn't you just get them the actual cd? Its not like it becomes kid friendly when children are the ones singing the lyrics. Again I say... I don't get it.
