So I've been applying for jobs. So far I've applied to Apple Store, Origins, Aveda, Anthropologie, and Good Vibrations. I really want to work for good vibes, but it's been a week and they haven't called me yet, so I don't know what to think. Also, I'm thinking about applying to the Mayor's Office of Protocol. Would that be weird? I'm thinking yes, but it could be interesting.
Onto other things: the more of a real life I have, the less inclined I am to post to livejournal. It's sort of a pattern with me. And real life has been hectic of late. Randomly? I've been doing a lot of crossword puzzles. I'm getting so good at them! The New York Times puzzle still foils me, but I swear someday soon I will be able to fill in at least half of those answers.
Fandom stuff: I watched Shattered Glass the other day. Hayden Christensen is really good in it. What a fascinating story. I also watched The Notebook because Ryan Gosling is a hotass. I was pretty much blown away. Rachel McAdams didn't look anything like she did in Mean Girls. That was the weirdest part, but the movie was good. It's such a beautiful story.
Lastly: The Adventures of Pete and Pete's first season is out on DVD. I bought it for $26 and I can't even explain how utterly cool this is. Do you guys remember this show? It was so fucking weird. I have no clue how the hell nickelodeon approved it. Seriously. All those old Nick shows were wonderfully offbeat. But Pete and Pete takes the cake. What other kids television show could have gotten, Steve Buscemi, Iggy Pop, Adam Smith, Janeane Garofalo, LL Cool J, Patty Hearst, Michael Stipe, and Hunter S. Thompson? Their list of guest stars is insane. I miss those days, man.
Okay, really, the last thing: If I were to start uploading episodes of The Long Way Round and sharing them on a weekly basis would you guys be interested? There are 7 episodes total so I'd be posting them over 7 weeks so that I can conserve my bandwidth. But the upside would be Ewan McGregor on a motorbike for 7 glorious hours. Alternatively, you could download the giant 2 and a half gig torrent, or I can mail you the episodes on a dvd if you can pay for postage.
